EARLY MORNING CARE: Children arriving at school between 7:30 and 8:15 congregate in the Extended Day space or on the playground. They are supervised by Montessori classroom staff. Games, building materials, and other lessons are available for all ages. It is common for older and younger children to play and converse with each other as they ease into their day.
EXTENDED DAY PROGRAM: After school care is available until 5:30 P.M. Staff members have spent at least part of the day in a classroom, bridging the transition to afternoon activities and providing our children with a familiar adult presence. Following dismissal, children in the Extended Day program spend time on the playground as well as indoors in carefully prepared environments. When outside, there is time for independent activity as well as the opportunity for planned games and activities. Toddler and Early Childhood children transition from the playground into to a peaceful and comfortable environment with activities designed to meet their developmental needs. Inside activities for Elementary aged students include special games, crafts, and materials that are available during this time only.
